Professor Renato speaks at Westlake University!
On April 9, 2024, You Xiao's research group invited Professor Renato from ETH Zurich to Westlake University to share the content related to nanoscale surface analysis based on tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy with the title "Nanoscale Surface Analysis via Tip-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy".
Professor Renato Zenobi is a famous analytical chemist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and a professor in the school's organic chemistry laboratory. He was born in Zurich in 1961 and received his Ph.D. in physical and analytical chemistry from Stanford University in 1990, studying under the internationally renowned scholar Professor Richard N. Zare. Since 2000, Professor Zenobi has become a full-time professor at ETH and served as the chief professor of analytical chemistry in Switzerland. Professor Renato Zenobi's research mainly focuses on mass spectrometry and spectral analysis. He is one of the main inventors of tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS), which can perform molecular analysis and imaging at the nanoscale. This research has greatly promoted the development of analytical chemistry and life sciences.
Professor Renato Zenobi's visit to Westlake University provided a rare opportunity for teachers and students to communicate. After the lecture, the students spoke actively and had a heated discussion around TERS.
